ATK VXE Dragonfly R1 Wireless Gaming Mouse
The ATK VXE Dragonfly R1 is one of the most widely recommended budget gaming mice in India, and for good reason. Six versions share the same compact symmetrical shell, so the shape and hand feel stay consistent across the range while the internals change: sensor, polling rate, battery capacity and connectivity. Weights start at 48 g. Every version uses a smooth ice-feel coating that resists stains and stays grippy during long sessions.
VXE is part of the same parent company as ATK, VGN, MAD and FGG.

Which R1 Should You Buy?
- R1 S — the entry model. Xhero AI sensor with a large 520 mAh battery and Bluetooth. Choose it when the price gap over R1 N is meaningful and you do not need the stronger sensor.
- R1 N (NearLink) — the best all-round pick for mixed work and gaming. PAW3395 SE, Bluetooth, and over 150 hours of battery life at 1000 Hz. R1 N and R1 NearLink are two names for the same mouse.
- R1 SE+ — an affordable PAW3395 SE option with all three connection modes and a 520 mAh battery. Compare it against R1 N before buying, since its official runtime is shorter.
- R1 — the lightest model that still has Bluetooth, at 51 g, and it moves up to the full PAW3395 sensor. The trade-off is a 250 mAh battery and roughly 40 hours of use.
- R1 Pro — the lightest in the series at 48 g, with support for polling above 1000 Hz. Best for low-sensitivity players who make wide arm movements.
- R1 Pro Max — same sensor and polling ceiling as R1 Pro, but adds a 500 mAh battery, up to 150 hours of runtime and Kailh White Blade switches for 6 g more weight. The widest colour selection sits here.
Important: 4K Polling Needs a Separate Receiver
The receiver included in the box runs at 1000 Hz on every version of the R1. Only R1 Pro and R1 Pro Max support 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz operation, and only with a separate compatible high-polling receiver, which is sold separately. If you are buying specifically for 4K polling, budget for the dongle as well.
Hand Size and Grip
The R1 shell is compact and symmetrical, and it suits small to medium hands best. Players with larger hands frequently report strain after an hour or more and are generally better served by the wider ATK A9 shell. If you are choosing between the two, hand size is the single most useful tiebreaker — the sensors overlap heavily, the shapes do not.
The shape works well for claw and fingertip grips. Full palm grip is comfortable for smaller hands but starts to feel cramped as hand length increases.
